Community Shelter Board's Women Leaders are a distinguished group of women creating community change by connecting women and the power of philanthropy. These women have a shared passion for rebuilding the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors.
Women Leaders come together to:
- Serve as ambassadors for Community Shelter Board and people experiencing homelessness
- Help raise funds for Community Shelter Board’s nationally recognized programs to end homelessness
- Connect with other members while being hands on in the work to rebuild lives
Membership in Women Leaders requires a $1,000+ individual investment, renewable annually. Annual membership funds are applied towards the group’s two goals:
Family homelessness diversion - often families only need help with a one-time expense such as a car repair or medical bill. Women Leaders are investing in a fund to help with these one-time expenses that ensure families remain stably housed instead of needing a homeless shelter.
Investing in a healthy start for newborns - in alignment with our community’s infant mortality reduction initiative, CSB is prioritizing pregnant women for shelter, to make sure they are never turned away due to lack of space. Additional funding is needed to provide enhanced services including rental assistance, so that pregnant women are housed before they give birth. We want to make sure every newborn baby starts their life in a safe, loving home – not in a homeless shelter.
