Community Progress Reports
RL Supportive Housing-units Developed or Under Development
"Rebuilding Lives: A Progress Report", provides detailed information that describes each component of the five-year plan, assesses the status of the initiative, discusses keys to success and challenges to be overcome and concludes with recommended next steps. This report on the first 21 months of implementation was prepared in keeping with our pledge to keep the community informed.
Rebuilding Lives seeks to establish coordinated, targeted and cost-effective methods to provide services to those experiencing a housing crisis, as well as supportive housing to stabilize the lives of those with long-term needs. Involving nearby neighbors and the community-at-large in the planning process is an essential ingredient to building cooperative relationships with project sponsors.
" ... Rebuilding lives means that we should concentrate on meeting the specific needs of individual persons who are homeless rather than using a 'one size fits all' approach to providing services. Significant research was conducted to expand the understanding of who is homeless, why they are homeless and what is needed to help them become more stable and productive
members of our community...."
