Purpose of the Annual Mel Schottenstein Birthday Celebration

To raise funds needed to support the programs and services of the Community Shelter Board and its partner agencies.

Goals of the Annual Mel Schottenstein Birthday Celebration

•        Maintain critical support from major corporate sponsors.

•        Create a private support base that can be depended upon.

•        Educate and increase visibility of the Community Shelter Board and the issues of homelessness and affordable housing.

•        Strengthen relations with key funders: City of Columbus; the Franklin County Board of Commissioners; the United Way of Central Ohio; U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; Ohio Department of Development, and The Columbus Foundation

•        Strengthen relations with the Community Shelter Board’s partner agencies.
