Community Shelter Board hires New Staff

 

Shawn P. Hufstedler, CPA has been hired as CSB’s new Director of Financial Services & Grants Administration effective February 9th.  Hufstedler has held positions at the Battelle Memorial Institute and most recently at the accounting firm KPMG LLP.  Hufstedler is a Certified Public Accountant and earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Ohio State University.  He and his wife Andrea reside in Worthington.

 

Janelle Simmons has been hired as CSB’s new Director of Development & Communications effective February 9th.  Simmons has held positions at Limited Brands and United Way, and most recently at the Ohio State University.  A native of Euclid, Simmons earned her Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University in Athens and now resides in Columbus.

 

Dave Davis has been hired as CSB’s new Rebuilding Lives PACT Team Initiative Project Coordinator effective December 1, 2003.  Davis is the former Operations Manager for the Private Industry Council and former Vocational Counselor for Columbus Public Schools.  Davis earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the Ohio State University and also participated in a Masters’ degree program in Public Administration, specializing in Labor and Human Resources.  He and his wife Darlene reside in Gahanna.

 

The Rebuilding Lives PACT (Program of Assertive Community Treatment) Team Initiative is a collaborative effort designed to target chronically homeless individuals with severe mental illnesses who may also suffer from co-existing substance abuse problems and/or physical illnesses or disabilities.  The project is funded through a grant under the Collaborative Initiative to End Homelessness, from the U. S. Interagency Council on Homelessness.  

 

The Community Shelter Board, established in 1986, is a non-profit intermediary organization that coordinates community based efforts, fosters collaboration, and funds services to assist families and individuals in Central Ohio to resolve their housing crisis.  The Community Shelter Board allocates $7.5 million annually to support programs at 13 agencies.  Last year, these programs served more than 11,000 individuals.  The Community Shelter Board is funded by the City of Columbus, the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, the United Way of Central Ohio, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the State of Ohio, and other public and private donors.
