Rebuilding Lives - Now and in the Future.

Community Shelter Board leads a strategic community plan called Rebuilding Lives. It's a comprehensive and interrelated set of strategies to decrease the number of people who experience homelessness. The focus is on improving effectiveness and effficiency of the system, including assuring no duplication of services. Strategies are organized into four broad goals:

"The entire community can come together to end homelessness by working as a system as opposed to a fragmented set of resources being able to address the problem in a much more efficient and effective manner.  Homelessness is not simply a case of a roof over your head, sometimes it's counseling. Sometimes it's about child care or transportation, sometimes it is about substance abuse and the ability to address those issues. And understanding those needs - that's what the Rebuilding Lives initiative does. It looks at all of the reasons why people are in the situation they are in"
